BROCCOLI CHEESE SOUP

Broccoli cheese soup screams comfort food and makes me personally thing of fall, but it is wonderful in every season.
You do not have to be a professional chef to make this broccoli cheese soup recipe. It is easy… and better yet delicious! There are no fancy gourmet ingredients, just simple things from the market.

2 Minced Onions
5 Tablespoons Butter
3 Cloves Garlic Minced
2 Cups Chicken Broth
1 Head of Fresh Broccoli or 1 bag frozen broccoli
2 Cups Heavy Cream
16 Oz. Block of Cheddar Cheese
1/4 Cup of Flour
1 Teaspoon: Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, and Thyme
If using fresh broccoli (Chop broccoli and Boil until tender)
If using frozen Broccoli (Thaw and drain well)
Mince the 2 onions and garlic cloves.
Add the butter to a skillet or cast iron pan on low.
Add in onion and garlic, cook until transparent. Mix in all of your seasoning. Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, and Thyme.
Drain Broccoli and put back in pot. Add 2 cups of Broth, and 1 1/2 cup cream. Heat on low and stir.
Add onion and garlic mixture to the pot with broccoli.
In a cup, add 1/2 cup of cream and 1/4 of flour. Mix until dissolved. Add mixture into the pot and stir. This will thicken your broth.
Garnish with cheese. Serve and Enjoy!
